FAITH QUOTES
When problems come and questions arise, do not start your quest for faith by saying how much you do not have, leading as it were with your “unbelief.” That is like trying to stuff a turkey through the beak! Let me be clear on this point: I am not asking you to pretend to faith you do not have. I am asking you to be true to the faith you do have. Sometimes we act as if an honest declaration of doubt is a higher manifestation of moral courage than is an honest declaration of faith. It is not! So let us all remember the clear message of this scriptural account: Be as candid about your questions as you need to be; life is full of them on one subject or another. But if you and your family want to be healed, don’t let those questions stand in the way of faith working its miracle. Honestly acknowledge your questions
and your concerns, but first and forever fan the flame of your faith, because
all things are possible to them that believe.

The
Apostle Paul said, “Ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens
with the saints, and of the household of God.”7 It is within the sanctuary of the
Church that we protect our faith. Meeting together with others who believe, we
pray and find answers to our prayers; we worship through music, share testimony
of the Savior, serve one another, and feel the Spirit of the Lord. We partake
of the sacrament, receive the blessings of the priesthood, and attend the temple. The
Lord declared, “In the ordinances … , the power of godliness is
manifest.”8 When you are faced with a test of faith,
stay within the safety and security of the household of God. Neil L. Andersen, Trial of Your Faith,

To reach, to teach, to touch the
precious souls whom our Father has prepared for His message is a monumental
task. Success is rarely simple. Generally it is preceded by tears, trials,
trust, and testimony. Thomas
S. Monson, Tears, Trials, Trust, Testimony, April 1987 General Conference, http://www.lds.org/general-conference/1987/04/tears-trials-trust-testimony?lang=eng
Why do we need such resilient faith?
Because difficult days are ahead. Rarely in the future will it be easy or
popular to be a faithful Latter-day Saint. Each of us will be tested. The
Apostle Paul warned that in the latter days, those who diligently follow the
Lord “shall suffer persecution.”That very persecution can either crush you into
silent weakness or motivate you to be more exemplary and courageous in your
daily lives. Russell M.
Nelson, Face the Future with Faith, April 2011 General Conference, http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2011/04/face-the-future-with-faith?lang=eng
Wherever in life great
spiritual values await man’s appropriation, only faith can appropriate them.
Man cannot live without faith, because in life’s adventure the central problem
is character-building—which is not a product of logic, but of faith in ideals
and sacrificial devotion to them.

There is no obstacle too great, no
challenge too difficult, that we cannot meet with faith. Gordon

But faith is not demonstrated only in
big heroic events, such as the coming of the handcart pioneers. It is also
demonstrated in small but significant events. Gordon

Increased faith is what we most need.
Without it, the work would stagnate. With it, no one can stop its progress. Gordon

Like the intense fire that transforms
iron into steel, as we remain faithful during the fiery trial of our faith, we are spiritually refined and
strengthened. Neil L.
